Adjunct Professor of Equine Science
Dr. Doug Halbrooks, serves the Equine Science Department as adjunct professor of Equine Science. He teaches EQS disease management courses and serves as the College veterinarian. Dr. Halbrooks’ primary research while a veterinary medicine student at Auburn University, “Vaccine-Induced Canine Distemper In Gray Foxes”, was published and garnered him opportunities to present further papers at national meetings. Dr. Halbrooks worked as an associate veterinarian in Pontotoc, Mississippi, for two years before buying the Marion Veterinary Clinic in 1983. He has been involved in a variety of ways in his community, including multiple areas of service at Siloam Baptist Church. He’s also interested in wildlife conservation, outdoor sports, and expressing the Gospel through his daily life and work.
