Legacy Project

The exhibition, The Legacy Project: Capturing Judson College on Canvas, features original oil paintings by fine artist, Cat Pope.

The exhibition opens March 4th, 2014 and continues through April 5th, 2014, at the Marian Acree Tucker Gallery at Judson College in Marion, AL.

There will be an opening reception on Tuesday, March 4th from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm in the gallery, and a closing reception on April 5th from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm. Each event is free and open to the public.

The Legacy Project is a commemorative art collection honoring the heritage and legacy of Judson College. Founded in 1838 in Marion, Alabama, the College celebrates her 175th anniversary during the 2013-2014 academic year. “Judson’s longstanding tradition of excellence and service inspired me to paint this collection,” says Pope. “Our beloved campus has stood the test of time, and it is my goal to help capture its beauty that so many generations have cherished.”

Originally from Clearwater, Florida, Pope graduated with honors from Judson College in 2011. Her work can be seen in public and private collections throughout the United States, and she is active in her local art community in Jackson, Alabama.

The works in the upcoming exhibition are for sale, and a special honorarium will be presented to the College at the completion of the exhibition.
