Summer volleyball camps to be held at Judson College

Judson College Athletics will host two summer volleyball camps in June on the college’s campus in Marion, Ala. The camps will be hosted by coaching staff and Judson Eagles volleyball team members.

The first camp will serve girls ages 9-11 (entering grades 4-6) and will be held June 26 and 27 in Riddle Gymnasium from 9am-1pm each day. Younger players will focus on basic fundamentals using games and drills in a fun, engaging atmosphere. Players will learn proper footwork, arm work, and ball work as they develop their skills.

The second camp is an overnight camp for girls ages 12-17 (entering grades 7-12) and will be held June 27 and 28 in Riddle Gymnasium. Check-in will begin at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 27, and conclude Friday at 2:00pm. Older players will work on the fundamentals of passing, serving, setting, hitting, and defense through drills, interactive games, and game simulations.

“We are excited to be able to host two age-level camps this year,” said Eagles Coach Cynthia White. “Doing so will allow each camper to have more individualized coaching attention to best develop their skills. We are also really excited to host the overnight camp, which will provide older campers with opportunities to learn about college life and athletics, as well as to spend time with our college athletes on and off the court.”
