Equestrian Teams Show at Berry College

The Judson College Equestrian Teams competed in 3 shows on November 1-2, 2014, at Berry College in Rome, GA. Also competing were riders from Berry College, Emory University, Georgia College, Georgia State University, Georgia Tech, Kennesaw State University, Mississippi College, Mississippi State Unveristy, the University of Alabama, the University of Georgia, and the University of North Georgia.

The huntseat team started on Saturday morning, with senior Katelyn Vanhoozer of Waco, Texas placing 1st in Beginner Walk/Trot/Canter, pointing up to Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter. Junior Veronica Primavera placed 2nd in Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter, freshman Sara Alsabrook of Centreville placed 3rd, and sophomore Alex Huber of Mechanicsburg, PA placed reserve. Freshmen Tiffani Pitts of Montgomery placed 3rd and Candace Paige of Gadsden placed 6th Novice Equitation.

On Saturday afternoon the western team competed, junior Mary Kilpatrick of Dothan placing 1st and Alex Huber placing 3rd in Advanced Western Horsemanship, junior Katie McQuaig of Cumming, GA placing 5th in Novice Western Horsemanship, sophomore Emily Dickerson of Madison placing 5th in Intermediate II Western Horsemanship, and senior Daphne Arrington of Roanoke placing 1st in Beginner Western Horsemanship.

On Sunday, the huntseat team competed again, with Veronica Primavera placing 4th,  and Alex Huber and sophomore Sheila Palmer of Hoover both placing 5th  in Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter, Candace Paige placing 6th in Novice Equitation, and Tiffani Pitts placing 4th in Novice Over Fences.
