Judson College has launched a custom 360-degree immersive virtual tour of its campus in Marion, Ala.
Though the campus re-opened for in-person private tours in May after preventive closures related to the COVID-19 pandemic, an option for a self-guided virtual “walkthrough” of campus was needed.
“Given the realities of the continuation of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s more important than ever that prospective students and their families have a way to ‘visit’ our campus without physically coming to Marion,” said Associate VP for Marketing & Communications Mary Amelia Taylor.
The custom virtual tour, produced by Mass Interact, is a user-guided experience that functions like Google Street View, with the ability to “navigate” through 360-degree imagery of many campus spaces, including areas in Jewett Hall, Charlotte G. Lowder Science Building, Anne Kirtley Hall, Dunkin Athletic Park, and the Piper Equine Studies Complex.
The 360-degree imagery that populates the custom tour is also hosted by Google as part of Judson’s listing on Google Maps and search results pages.
“We will continue to reserve the very impactful work of personalized tours for our Admissions staff and Student Ambassadors, but this virtual experience will be a great way for first-time guests to discover and explore our hidden gem of a campus for themselves,” Taylor said.
