Earlier today, Dr. Joe Jackson Frazer, Jr., Professor Emeritus of History at Judson College, lost his battle with cancer, passing away at his home in Marion, Alabama. Dr. Frazer began teaching at Judson in the Fall of 2008, serving with distinction until his health demanded that he step away from the classroom duties he loved so dearly. As Assistant Professor of History, Dr. Frazer taught his students, led the Judson chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, and engaged widely in scholarly and professional circles. Dr. Frazer served our nation in its armed forces as an Electrician’s Mate in the United States Navy before earning degrees in history from Huntingdon College, Auburn University, and University of Memphis. Dr. Frazer’s teaching career spanned two decades with faculty posts at LeMoyne-Owen College, Southwest Tennessee Community College, University of Memphis, Columbia State Community College, and Judson College.
Judson personnel are in communication with Dr. Frazer’s family and will seek to provide additional details regarding funeral arrangements.
