Judson Singers announce Spring choir tour

The Judson Singers choir will perform its Spring Choral Concert April 18th ahead of its spring tour in Mobile and Dallas Counties April 26-29.

The Spring Concert is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on April 18 in Alumnae Auditorium on the Judson College campus in Marion, Ala. Titled, “Home Sweet Home”, the concert will feature songs performed in a variety of styles, including choral works written by American composers, traditional folk tunes, and spirituals.

The choir will depart for the Dauphin Island area April 26 and will perform at two church services in Theodore Sunday, April 28: at First Baptist Church of Theodore (10:30 a.m. service) and at Cypress Shores Baptist Church (6:00 p.m. service). On Monday, April 29, the Singers will work with the choirs at Bryant High School in Coden, Ala.

The Singers will present their “Homecoming” Concert at Elkdale Baptist Church in Selma, Ala. Monday, April 29, at 6:00 p.m.

The Judson Singers are under the direction of Dr. Garrett Torbert, Instructor of Music. In addition to their Spring concert and tour, the Judson Singers also prepare and perform music for Judson’s annual Christmas Vespers program, Chapel services, and special events.

Judson is a private undergraduate institution founded in Marion, Ala., in 1838. The college offers a residential undergraduate education for women and selected online undergraduate programs for men and women in over 20 areas of study. Affiliated with the Alabama Baptist Convention, the Judson campus community encourages each student to find ways that knowledge and faith can work together to guide her in a life of purpose.
