Judson College is proud to announce the appointment of a new enrollment executive. Mr. Kevin Kirk will join the College as Vice President for Enrollment and Communication on June 24.
A native of Cisco, Texas, Kirk holds a Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University and a Master of Business Administration from Howard Payne University. Kirk began his career in collegiate admissions in 1996 as a financial aid officer at Baylor University, where he coordinated the identification and application of student grants for families with demonstrated financial need. Kirk gradually accepted more comprehensive roles, including Associate Director of Admissions and Director of Campus Visits, during his thirteen years of service at Baylor.
In 2009, Kirk joined the senior administration of Howard Payne University (HPU) as Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management. He was named Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management in 2012, overseeing student recruitment and admissions processes for the Brownwood, El Paso, and New Braunfels campuses of HPU.
“I have never known an enrollment officer with a greater grasp of how to attract the right students to an institution nor a finer Christian professional in any field than Mr. Kirk,” said Judson President W. Mark Tew, who supervised Kirk as Provost at HPU. “As Judson’s Vice President for Enrollment and Communication, he will recognize system flaws that prevent optimal workflow, identify any inconsistencies in the messaging of the enrollment process, and, perhaps most importantly, cultivate the necessary human skills, talents, and resources required of a highly-functional enrollment division,” said Tew.
Kirk is an active participant in numerous national professional organizations. He has served as the Executive Board Secretary for the Collegiate Information and Visitors Services Association, President of the National Association of Baptist Admissions Professionals, and is currently serving as Commissioner for the Enrollment Management Commission for the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU). Kirk has served twice as the Vice President of the Rotary International of Brownwood, Texas.
Kirk and his wife Lauren, Assistant Professor of Education at HPU, have three daughters–Lindsey, Bethany, and Aubrey. “Christ-centered higher education has been the focus and calling of my entire career,” Kirk said, “and it is clear that Judson is a place where God’s truth is at the center of all the College’s pursuits. Lauren and I couldn’t be more excited about joining the College that for more than 180 years has been dedicated to the Christian education of young women.”
Because of the integral and dynamic relationship between the enrollment and financial aid processes and the College’s communication of its image, benefits, and affordability, Kirk will also supervise Financial Aid and the College’s Marketing and Communications Division. Kirk’s arrival will enable Susan D. Jones, Vice President and Dean of Students, to return her entire focus to the College’s Student Life division. Jones has supervised the College’s admission efforts since 2015 and has the College’s enduring appreciation for her dedicated service.
