A celebration of life service in memory of Dr. Billie Jean Young, Artist-in-Residence and Associate Professor of Fine & Performing Arts at Judson, has been scheduled for April 6 at 11:00 a.m. CST.
Judson faculty, staff, students, and Dr. Young’s family will attend the event in Alumnae Auditorium. The service will be livestreamed for the public below and will also be available via Facebook Live on the Judson College page.
We invite the Marion and Perry County communities, and other friends of Dr. Young to join us virtually to celebrate Dr. Young’s life and her remarkable contributions to Judson and to the Alabama Black Belt. The service will be available for later viewing on the Judson College YouTube channel.
On April 7, Dr. Young’s family has made possible an online premiere event of Dr. Young’s one-woman two-act drama Fannie Lou Hamer: This Little Light. The beautifully-recorded performance featuring Dr. Young as Fannie Lou Hamer will premiere at 7:00 p.m. CST at www.judson.edu/thislittlelight.
